I know the Droid has a keyboard but I'm not impressed with it. I played with my friends G1 and I love the keyboard on that one. Are they going to make more phones with keyboards? Or are they all just going to be like the Eris? My friend thinks I should get the the Droid because he believes they're not going to make phones with keyboards anymore soon.

YES...I 100% support that suggestion. I love the keypad on G1/dream...i like the latest Hero but with it not equppied wth qwerty keypad...i'm reluctant to change. dream qwerty is better thn on touch pro II...

I see 1 point of strength & weakness to this issue now

= I would reluctant to change to other models even with the latest firmware because personally i think typing text with touch pad is troublesome which is y i dont see any significant "wow" factors with iphone 3Gs.. It just serve us buyers with experience of what technologies can give us. thats all...jst flatters our ego but it is not practical & reliable...that kind of phones slows me down.....

What concerns me is google is progressively updating it's firmware and what will happen to my G1?will i get every updates google releases? I hope to maintain with this G1 with latest updates from google.

= my G1/dream is considered a very unique and elegant phone with the slide out keypad which makes me kinda noticeable and come with styles.Good impression....heheh...thus if google to make more of phones like htc dream...i would not be unique anymore..there are only a handful of individuals using this android htc dream in malaysia.

Conc / Q = can i keep my G1 longer with latest updates in it?

I wish the G1 was on Verizon. Sadly I don't think that will ever happen. Maybe I should just suck it up and get the Droid. The Devour is supposed to have 1.6

The only one I know of is the Lephone, which looks awesome by the way. The only thing is its definetly coming to the states, but using the term "soon" may be a bit far fetched. But who knows, it may be here in the first half of this year.

Your friend is on drugs their definitely making more phones with keyboards. But you should check out the Samsung Moment the 800mhz processor and amoled screen is pretty damn sexy.

the problem with the Droid is:

a) it's keyboard sucks to bad, it's almost moot that it has a physical keyboard, although still great in concept - gives more screen realestate when typing in landscape - something that sucks on the Nexus - hardly any screen left)...

b) the Droid is S-L-O-W.... needs a major processor boost....
