Are we importing spyware?

Ok, so. Perhaps I should not have installed App Brain, but the app I wanted showed up there. Anyway I started to downloaded it and a load of disclaimers popped up like:- permission to monitor my location.
Now that sounds like the big brother that we are all resisting. Is this normal or paranoia?

App Brain is fine. It is not actually an app hosting or source site. It's simply an interface and sits between you and the official android market. Since there is now a web based presence for the android market, App Brain's best feature is that it allows you to save lists of apps. So for example, i have a list for apps that i'd like to try someday but don't want to install right now. And more importantly a backup list of all my currently installed apps so if I change ROMs or have to do a factory reset, i have an easy reference to ensure all my apps were reinstalled
