ART or dalvik

Has anyone been running their phone with art, and how has it performed compared to dalvik? Any crashing?

In the span of 24 hours using ART, I had two instances of the screen going black and the phone non-responsive. When I rebooted, it got stuck at the Sprint Spark screen, so I had to do a battery pull. After the second time, I went back to Dalvik. I had music playing the second time, and it still kept playing, so it didn't completely lock up.

I didn't really find any improvements to performance with ART (except for my old version of Tapatalk that loaded much faster). There was really no reason to stay on ART, especially considering the lock ups. I haven't had anything like that with Dalvik. You don't lose any settings or files going back and forth.

Interestingly, someone pointed out in one of the forums that switching to ART and back to Dalvik is a way to clear the Dalvik cache without root. So before you perform that factory reset after a system update gone awry, convert to ART and back.

Just as a side note, going to ART takes around 30 minutes and makes the phone so hot it needs a cool down before use. It was a lot faster going the other way.

Got the phone yesterday switched the phone to art about 30 min ago. If things go crazy ill go back to dalvik. Just curious about it.
