Help Asphalt 8 has crashing on my nexus 5

Asphalt 8 has crashing on my nexus 5. What could be the probable reason for it and how to rectify it?
It was working smoothly before.

Was anything updated, either the game itself or the Android version that's running on your Nexus, e.g. Lollipop. Could be worth emailing Gameloft about it, tell them exactly what you've got and what's happening, include device make and model number, software versions. etc.
