When selecting Driving or Home and checking Talk to Me within the Assist App, I am no longer receiving voice notifications telling me who is calling or texting me. I used to receive such voice input when Driving or Home. Please help. I have the latest KitKat update and I THINK this issue may have surfaced after the update. THANK YOU.

I noticed the same thing, upon checking my apps it was disabled, I've enabled and updated it.
It didn't always know where I was, but did work at times.
Hopefully after setting it up again all will be good.

Maybe it's a volume issue? Check settings / sounds / volumes and make sure that none of them are off. I think that Assist uses Media volume...

I have a Droid Maxx with 4.4.4, not a Moto X, and driving assist continues to work great. Actually, one change that I noticed was that when it interrupts, the overlay is transparent, so you can see that app or homescreen that was last open. IIRC it used to be an all black background that took over the screen, a lot like touchless controls.

(One other thing to try, if it's not the volumes, is to go into settings / apps, find and tap Assist, tap "Uninstall updates" and, when it's done, go into the Play Store and re-install the update to the app.)

I have a brand new Motorola Droid Maxx with 4.4.4 on Verizon. I also checked to be sure I have the most up-to-date version of the Assist App. I can open the app, click on Driving, put a check mark next to "Talk to me", but there aren't any other options. I have seen screen shots of a > you are supposed to be able to click on for options, but mine is missing. Anyone else? Any clue how to fix it?

Thanks,

Deb

That's what mine looks like. You're good.

Any options that you can choose are in the menu, tap settings. The menu is that three dot control to the right of "Assist".

Yeah, but this only gives the option of turning the "Talk to Me" on or off - no settings. The Menu > Settings doesn't have anything, either. I thought you could set auto replies, etc.

No, that changed when they updated the app. Now you just dictate any responses.
