Assume that I'm a total moron. I'd like to use Firefox 4 on my Droid x. Is it a good idea? Remember....total moron.

I recently purchased my Droid. Verizon is my carrier. I'm a Firefox 4 user on my comps and my Logo addiction tells me to go with 4 on my Droid. I'm NOT a rocket scientist and don't want to screw up my Droid. Easy to use???

I'm curious how people feel about the mobile FireFox in general. I've used it for years now on my computer, and since I'm getting a smart phone in a couple weeks, my gut is telling me that the FireFox browser should be at the top of my lists of apps to download. But seeing as how it's new, I'm curious if there are any problems with it, or if there are things it can't do that the other browsers out there can.

You would just need to download the beta version available here Mozilla.com | Mobile go to setting on your phone then applications and check the unknown sources box. Then use a file explorer to install the APK.

The process is quite easy. You would then just try out the browser if you like it keep it if not uninstall. No worries about messing up your phone. I have not used the mobile firefox browser so I can't give a review.

It's neither a good idea nor a bad idea. It's not going to break your phone and there are no browsers that I've seen that are far and away the best. Use it and if you like, it stick with it. If you hate it, uninstall it and go on your way. It will sync your tabs and links across platforms which is very cool.

I neglected to mention a previous problem. Being a member of the highly addictive drug known as Facebook, my SMART Droid did me the service of downloading 4,000 "contacts" and I needed to temporarily close my account in order to get rid of them. Is anyone aware of a FIX for that (as I see it) "problem".
