Astro and Uninstalling Widget Skins

Hi there. I'm still very new to this OS, and am wondering about Astro. Basically, I installed Sense Analog Clock Widget and I then installed a skin to make it look similar to the HTC Sense clock.

Because this widget was too fiddly, and didn't seem too professional, imo, I uninstalled it, but reinstalled it afterwards to see if when I had uninstalled it whether or not the the skins I had downloaded had been deleted. They hadn't, so my only option (I presume) was to use Astro to remove the skins. Using this, I deleted the skins; they were in .png format - I viewed the images and cross referenced them with the file names given in the 'skin selector' within the widget. I checked the widget after I had done this to see if the skins had been deleted, and they were still there, so, again, I uninstalled it, checked Astro, they were gone from here, reinstalled the widget and low and behold, the skins had eventually been removed.

So I have a couple of questions;

Was my way to uninstall them the right way, or is there another way to do it?

And, how safe is Astro? I mean, I felt like I was messing around too much with the files on the phone, and was a bit nervous in case I messed up the phone's system, or any of my apps. All I deleted was two .png's.

And... one more thing... where can I find a decent looking HTC clock replica? Preferably for free? :P

Thanks.

Astro doesn't have root permissions so you can't delete anything that is absolutely necessary.

You should have been able to delete the skins using the app. Usually you can go into the settings menu within the app and remove any add-ons.

Beautiful widgets is a very nice sense widget alternative, but it isn't free.
