ASTRO File Manager - Crashing Issue

Kad

Lurker
Heya!

Every time I boot up ASTRO on my Milestone I get the same error:

Application not responding
The application ASTRO(process com.metago.astro) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
[Force close]

But behind that window, there's one that I can just make out (but can't access any of the buttons):

Exception Handler
An exception occured when you were previously running ASTRO. Would you like to email the details to the developers so they can work on the issue? No personal information will be sent and you will preview the email.
[Cancel] [Show Details]
[Send Email]

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the error still continues. Also, when logged onto my Google account on the Android market on my PC, it still lists ASTRO as installed even when it's uninstalled (and doesn't uninstall from there either), if that counts for anything.

Just recently I was transferring some music to my Milestone via the cradle, the transfer window froze for quite some time, so I removed the phone from the base mid-transfer. Would this have affected anything?

I don't use ASTRO all that often, but it's really useful to delete files when I'm not at my PC, so I'd really like to use it again. Does anyone know how someone would fix this? I assume it's got something to do with some files staying on the phone after uninstall, but I don't know how I'd remove them if that was the case.

For the record, I've never gotten root access or anything. I don't do anything "fancy" with the phone besides installing 20 or so apps.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I started using Astro when I first got my phone in Dec. but since the latest update, which was recently, it seems to have a few odd quirks. I've now switched to ES File Explorer and enjoying it more so.

So I keep getting force close over something i cant clearly see.
I have files I can't afford to lose.
I cant reload Astro thru my phone market,
And not so sure that i want to,

So now what please?
A new app would be totally acceptable, just which one..

or should i find a way to reload astro?
Thanks Stocky

My experience also. They took a mature program and turned it into a new release.

It's been updated about 20 times in the last week. Who knows what they are doing! I've not had it crash though, as of a few days ago anyway...but there was another update today.
