AT&T Early Upgrade Fee

Not for me, I love Android, but my friend wants to get another 4S as his broke. His contract ends in April, and wants to know if there is any way to not pay the $250 early upgrade fee.

They upgraded me after 12 months even though I had a year left on my contract.
