AT&T Galaxy S3 vs. One X? Help...

First of all, I'll explain what I'm coming from. It seems my iphone 4 is starting to bite the dust (its only been a year after all. plus my lovely father knocked it off of the counter and put a good chip in the glass :P) and I'm looking into new phones. After a long and hard journey, I've narrowed the selection down to the new S3 and One X (yes, no more iphones for me). There are pros and cons to each of these phones, but I need a 2nd opinion from some people that have been hands-on with these devices.

I pretty much love everything from each phone, but what might win me is the removable battery/longer battery life on the S3. The beats audio is nice on the One X, but from what I've heard you actually need the beats to hear the difference. :P I can live without that if I need to though. But I do love the design of the One X better...it doesn't look like a toy lol

*I guess i should add that as much as I try to be careful with my phones, I end up dropping them one way or another. Yes, I will purchase a case and screen protector for whichever device i choose, but I'm putting durability into consideration too :P

Which carrier please?

The US and International versions are a little different so I think you'll get the best advice from those with experience on your carrier. :)

Have you had a chance to sample either in a store yet?

at&t

and nope. i'd love to go up there and play with the phones, but i know they'll start asking 500 questions and bug me lol. Knowing my luck, I'll run into the lady that sold me my samsung infuse...oh my god what a mess that phone was for me.

Fans from both sides argue about the durability and survivability of each model, but in the end, both are phones with a plastic shell (ok, polycarbonate, aka thermoplastic polymer, aka plastic) and a glass face. Personally, I think that both makers know what they're doing and both are plenty high in build quality. That said, I have the Sprint version of the One X, my brother has the SGS3, and the first thing we said to each other is that each phone is so thin and light that you feel like it is going float out of your hand or pocket and sail around following the wind. I armored mine with the Otterbox Defender and there are plenty of other good choices as well.

Both phones have great screens and cameras, and I think that the HTC has the edge in each category, but others disagree.

I'd like to stop at this point because I think everything else is performance related and I do believe that will be influenced by the carrier, because of the specific radios involved.

I'll keep an eye here to see if you get the feedback you need though. :) ;)

PS - updated the title to reflect ATT.
