[AT&T] HTC One on pay as you go program

Someone wants to give me an AT&T HTC One for working on a laptop for them.Can I use the phone on AT&T pay as you go program?Or do I have to go with a contract?

You can go with prepay. ( pay as u go)
Just get a new sim from at&t.
Hope that phone is not blacklisted.

swappa has an IMEI checker on their website. Locate yours on the phone and enter it for their checker and it will verify if it is clean or not.

Try to put ant at & t sim in it. If that works then u r free to go.

Also, to make sure the IMEI stays good:

Meet them at the AT&T store and have the phone transferred into your name, after that they can't report it stolen.
