Getting a phone in about a week on AT&T(wanted another carrier, but can get on a family plan on this one).

Is the Captivate still the best phone out on AT&T, or is there a better one now?

Depends on what you are looking for, Captivate and Dell Streak are currently the top of the Android phones on Att

U can get the Captivate from Att direct or Wal-Mart, Wirefly, Best Buy. etc and get some good deals, not sure what the "add a line prices" are at each source, but prices have ranged from Free to $199.

The Streak can only be had from Dell directly, for $299 on contract or $550 w/o contract.

I really haven't heard any recent rumors of anything new coming soon.

Dell Thunder is rumored during mid Q4 so anytime in Sept-Nov area.
