AT&T Software Update msg

I just got an AT&T security software update alert but when I clicked on OK it said sorry the server is busy. Please try manually after the server becomes available.

How do I force an update manually?

In Settings, at the bottom of the list you have ATT software update.

I just checked on mine, no update available

ah thats what I did the first time.. I was hoping for a download pack somewhere other than waiting another 24 hours before I can check again. :(

The only info I can find is it's a patch for a boot loader exploit. Not sure what else it does.... So if you are using that exploit dont install the patch.

Okay so I downloaded the update and then it gets stuck at a message that says download complete verifying bootloader and when I hit okay the message just goes away and the update never installs is there something I am missing?

I am still not having any luck getting it to instal the update. I restart the phone and click on the notification for the download and the message comes up again that says "Download Successful Verifying Update Package and the circle just keeps going around if I hit the okay button nothing happens. Should I just let the message just keep going? I am in my home with WiFi so that shouldn't be the issue?

My Phone won't check for updates. When I go to the AT&T Software Update screen in settings there is A White bar with "Check for Updates" written on it. When I press the bar it squeezes back as if it knows I am pressing it but it does nothing more than that. I can press it over and over and nothing happens, it just continues to say "Check for Updates." Any idea's?

They roll it out in waves and you can only check every 24 hours so if you checked once and you weren't flagged... It did that to me, there is no real clear msg saying you cant check again though.. The button just appears not to work.

Oh and the update didn't go exactly smoothly. First it said downloading... After that nothing. Then about 5 minutes later it said "Is it ok to update"... I said yes. Then about 5 minutes after that (nothing going on in notifications, no indication it was doing anything) it said I needed to restart to apply it.

Then on the way home from work it wasn't really acting right so I booted again when I got home and I get another msg saying "update completed"... So I booted for a third time and didnt get any more msgs and its working really good now.

You can manually change the date on your phone 1 or 2 days ahead and check again. It worked for me.

yes but before now I was able to check for updates and it would actually tell me there was no update available. now it just does nothing, no indication of whether there is an update or not and no indication that I cannot check again for 24 hours which it would also indicate previously.
The difference between then and now I am hoping is that the servers are busy because of the ongoing waves & this is AT&T's way of saying not yet.
In the past with previous phones I have changed the clock to try updating again, instead of doing that and having all my alarms and reminders go off I will just wait.
Don't take it the wrong way but it is comforting to realize that you are experiencing/experienced the same scenario.
