AT&T Text Message Notification Volume Issue

I picked up an AT&T Galaxy S3 last week. I'm using the AT&T Messaging App for visual voicemail, texts, etc. One thing I have noticed is that I have no control over the volume of the text message notification. It's loud as hell and annoying. I can go into phone settings, turn down the notification volume completely, and the text sounds still comes through (too) loud and clear.

The app itself also has a setting menu, but no apparent volume control.

Anyone else have this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you go into system settings, then sound at the top is sound profiles then volume, when you click on volume it has four different volumes you can adjust. I also noticed when pushing the volume up or down on the side of the phone it shows the slider on the screen, next to the slider is a settings cog. When you push that gear symbol, it brings up three volume adjusters, the one with the exclamation point (!) in a bubble at the bottom is notifications.

This is on a T-Mobile S3, should be similar on others. Let me know if this helps.

I've tried all those setting and it didn't work. I did find another way to solve the problem however. I disabled the AT&T Message app and am using the stock texting app. I then downloaded the AT&T visual voicemail app for voicemail and I actually like this setup better. Plus, I can control the volume of my text notifications.

Great, I am glad you found a resolution that worked. :D

I hate it when I can't find a solution.
