AT&T to sell first Google Android phone next month

AT&T Inc. will start selling its first phone that runs on Google Inc.

... BUT, Makes me wonder how many people will switch from their iPhones to an Android phone? Especially when AT&T starts adding more advances OS Android phones to the network (I hear this one will have 1.5 I hear)

It's called covering their position... lol, they are making sure that they have some offering in the HOT new (I know, not NEW) OS Android and try to preserve their customer base. Bigger question will be once the iPhone is available through another carrier will they? (Preserve accounts) lol... I don't think so... and if the Android craze keeps churning along, iPhone may become irrelevant. hahaha...

Ok, all you iPhone Boiis don't be hating on me, it's just an opinion, ok.

though it doesnt belong here im glad you posted it! my wife currently is on AT&T and has been sticking it out with her winmobile based black jack 2 (after switching from the BJ1 that she had for a LONG time) and was waiting for something good to finally come to AT&T. i think its unfair that AT&T has gone this long trying to pimp the iPhone as the end all on their network. what if people dont want that phone but want to stay with the carrier? well thank god this is FINALLY happening!
 
The REAL question is what ATT will do to cripple the phone, something they've done with every phone but the iPhone.
 
I'm glad to see AT&T finally sell an android device but this specific one doesn't impress me at all. The device itself looks pretty cool based off the video but the fact that it runs an older version of android and that it has a lot of pre-loaded AT&T apps kinda scares me. I saw AT&T navigation in the video. I don't want to pay 10 dollars for the service when a lot of the newer android phones have google navigation for free. =\

I'll play with this one in the store and patiently wait to see what that FCC HTC device with AT&T's 3G bands turns out to be. It would be nice if it was the nexus one as speculated by numerous websites. :D
 
seriously...this is the first offering of Android that AT&T is launching with? pathetic....they really are showing a very sluggish support for it...guess they've been sucking on the apple teet for too long.
 
As I said in the other thread, from AT&T's marketing materials as well as the website, it seems as if MOTOBLUR is operating system. They hardly mention Android at all. I'm very disappointed in my wireless carrier.

I'll be impressed by AT&T as soon as they release a device that can be said to be competitive with the iPhone. Any AT&T user can tell you that they really try to push that phone on everyone (must be a higher commission for the salespeople).
