AT&T's insurance on phones not purchased from them.

I wanted to get the Motorola Flipside since my HTC Aria's screen cracked after a mere 2 feet drop and since I can't upgrade till next year I would have to buy the Flipside for the no commitment price. It's $400 at AT&T but at Walmart it's only $320 but since My Aria's screen cracked so easily I was wondering if AT&T would still offer the insurance plan for the Motorola Flipside that I would buy from walmart. I mean it's the same phone, just a different retailer

You might want to look into the insurance that Wal-Mart offers. I assume your Aria wasn't insured, otherwise we wouldn't be chatting, so you don't have existing insurance.

There are also after-market insurance that might be better than At&t, most require that you buy the insurance within 30 days of purchase. At&t didn't use to insure smart-phones at all, they had some really weird limitations on what they would insure. I got a BB replaced, even though their policy didn't cover it because sales people will sell anything :D I bought insurance knowing it wasn't allowed, but they had to pay for the replacement, because they sold me the insurance. They immediately canceled the insurance after I got my new device ;)

What is after-market insurance. Is it like wirefly's insurance??? But their insurance doesn't cover physical damange and if you report your phone as stolen it actually has to be snatched from your hands

if u buy a phone at walmart is like buying your phone with letstalk.com.. what i am trying to say is that you can call att. tell them where u get it from .. they will give insurance for it .. keep in mind it has to be done with in 30 day of purchase
