ATT H+ speed in Buffalo

North buffalo area:
Some of my last results are
Ping: 175ms, 167ms, 178ms
Down: 6.71mbps, 7.02mbps, 6.55mbps
Up: 1.08mbps, 1.12mbps, 1.16mbps

I just noticed these numbers were prior to the GB update and now I'm getting some weird speeds (not on wifi)
After the update I just got this
Ping: 31270ms, 31086ms
Down: 45.28 mbps, 28.85mbps
Up: 1.07mbps, 0.70mbps

Thank you for the numbers. The downloads look to be twice as large as 3g, does this translate to the internet being twice as fast on your phone with H+?

The first set of numbers are twice as fast than they were before the update att released in April, which unlocked the h+ data speeds. In fact since that update I usually always have the h+ symbol, very rare i get the e for edge but that was going through gettzville and it lasted for 5 seconds. I haven't seen a 3g symbol on my phone, inspire, so I don't even know if it has that icon for the notification bar but my captivate is a 3g device and i notice that my inspire is definitely faster since the april update. I don't have any numbers for the captivate though my husband currently has that in Texas.

Before the speed update at&t released in April you could cut all those numbers in half or even lower.
Here are some before the april update:
Ping: 101ms, 135ms, 106ms
Down: 2.6mbps, 3.48mbps, 1.9mbps
Up: 0.75mbps, 0.80mbps, 0.49mbps

Wow that is an incredible increase in speed. How much real world improvements have you seen when using your web browser?

The browser is definitely quicker to load. I am using the stock web browser I was going to try dolphin and a couple others available but since the increase in speed I don't really have any issues with the stock one. Dolphin does look nicer so I'm on the fence about trying it anyway.

That's odd. My captivate was getting around those speeds on 3g. Don't have the exact numbers since my captivate is in Texas right now. And since it doesn't have h+ i wouldnt expect it to go a whole lot faster. But since you have an atrix i would think that your speeds in the same general area would be about the same. Those speeds I posted are about average for me even when i travel around the city and even going to Batavia (slightly slower but not by a lot)

Mmm. Not sure why that would be though, I have to admit, I am happy with the real-life speed I am getting while browsing, etc. I guess that's all that matters. Maybe I will see a bump up in the near future. Thanks for the info.

Bump. Currently a Verizon customer with an expired contract and am considering jumping ship to AT&T. I live in the Buffalo area and was curious to see what people think of their coverage and data speeds.
