ATT lte rollout

What exactly happens during the att lte rollout? Like do i get degraded service for a while because my service has been super crappy lately and att told me were getting upgraded but they couldnt specify.
 
When we got the LTE upgrade, service was spotty for a few days. I think it has something to do with powering the towers down and then back up---but I'm speculating on that. You WILL be very pleased once the process is completed, though. BLAZING speeds on the phone, now.
 
When at@t flipped the LTE switch in Bham I didn't know a thing until I was driving to work and glanced at my phone. The 4G had been replaced by LTE. And yeah, its fast!
 
I remember the excitement when my phones finally got LTE.:)
Just keep in mind that with faster data speeds it is so easy to go over your alloted data limit.
