Help Attaching .xls files to Gmail?

Hello folks, I'm having some issues attaching a Excel spreadsheet to my email which I compose within Gmail. I click "attach file" and it directs me to my Gallery where I am unable to find my saved file. I have tried to save it with Quickoffice to a different location in my Gallery but still unsucessful in locating. Could you assist me in finding a solution? Thanks

I use Astro File Manager (free in the market). When I try to attach something to an email, it allows me to select whether I want to use Astro or the Gallery. Using Astro, I can search for the file and attach it. Hope this helps.
