Audio but no video..help!

I've been using Chromecast since I first got it late December and now I just get a blank screen but there is audio.I use Avia and LocalCast.I've tried factory resetting it other HDMI ports on the TV.no luck.Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated

Are these videos ones you were able to watch before? If not, it's probably a codec that Chromecast doesn't support.

The TV is Vizio it was working fine til a couple of days ago.Yeah just mp4 files

Make sure its updated I forgot how to update it and the new version should been in April at the end of the month

It was playing fine before and now it's just a blank screen.I did a hard reset a couple of times,tried different HDMI ports and nothing.I can see the Chromecast screen with the pretty pictures and it being connected to wifi and stuff but when I try casting something,just blank~

edit:It seems like Youtube works and some other mp4 files work but there are some that don't work

Because mp4 is a container for two streams, one audio and one video, and those streams are founded on codecs.

MP4 files can contain unsupported codecs.

I take it these particular files never played before?
