Help Audio cuts off on lock screen when screen is on

Hi!
Been searching the internet high and low for a post of a similar problem with no luck. Many seem to experience problems with playback in lockscreen (screen off) but my problem is that my android cuts off audio when screen is turned on (in lockscreen). This happens at least in spotify and google player. When pressing power-button to turn screen on the song keeps playing, i can see a split second pause in the lockscreen widget that immediately goes back to play, but no sound comes thru. When power is pressed again to turn screen off the audio returns... Playback is fine when screen is turned off.
Rather annoying. Had this problem since I bought the phone in July 2014, before and after installing Lollipop.
Just can't figure out where the problem is.

That was my first thought, was if you had it on then you might have this problem. If you don't have it on then that's not the issue. It could be related to a memory leak somewhere... what version are you on and how often do you restart?
 
Lollipop 5.0.1 and i restart rarely... Maybe once every 2-4 weeks. Just restarted yesterday with no effect to the problem. Actually last week while listening to a song I noticed the problem was absent and thought it had been fixed by an update or something. But this week it was back again...
