Help Audio jack no working

dunphero

Newbie
Hi all, I am unable to get any sound from my audio jack (earphone, external speaker etc). Just wondering if anyone has had this and maybe what the fix is. Cheers.

What happened that caused that? Drop it in the toilet? Drop it on the ground? Flash some app or mod to the phone? Alot of stress on the jack itself?

Unfortunately it does sound like a hardware in which case I only can advise that it is sent for assessment by an authorised repair agent.

Hi, took the phone to bits but unable to spot anything obvious, looks like i ll have to put it in for repair. Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.

Cheers Sam :)
916x10, am interested in what pics are required for "no sound out of my audio jack", lol. It definitely isn't working, "listen" lmfao.

Well, considering my comment of "pics or it didn't happen" immediately followed your comment of "took the phone to bits", logic and common sense would conclude that the pics being requested are of the phone "taken to bits"....never imagined that would need explanation

LOL my bad.
Chillax dude just repaying the "p o i d h" compliment (being called a liar doesen't sit well with most).
Anyway I am willing to put it all behind us and to upload any pic of any part of the phone you would like to look at as long as you promise no more arsy bullsxxt and offer constructive support. Cheers :)

Honestly, probably quickest to wipe the phone clean and start again.

That or troubleshoot.

I would suggest trying 3 different headphones (none that are built for iPods because they are constructed differently...mic and ground and speaker are reversed)

Have you rooted your phone and installed any sort of audio filter or engine?

Have you tried using different apps to play music?

Have you tried plugging in headphones and then getting someone to call you to see if the phone ringer plays out the headphones? Like a default phone ringer (is it just media apps or certain audio files or where they are located)

Maybe i'm different than most then cause if somebody were to call me a liar it would go in one ear and out the other, ESPECIALLY if it were somebody I don't even know or care about online. But that's just me;)

Don't really care about the pics man or if you really "took the phone to bits", it's not that serious. I'm over it

Cheers Beau, I have done what you suggested recently (my phone s not rooted btw) and tried again last night, no joy. I think its a hardware problem. I was hoping it is only the jack itself as this is quite easy to replace with no soldering involved (once phone is apart). Ive tried tracing this part just for the price but haven't been able to source one as yet (repair shop seems to charge
