whatis being updated? any issues? i generally wait a while for major app incompatabilities to work out or become known issues. i hate factory re-sets.

The monthly updates are generally purely to patch found security issues. They shouldn't impact any of your apps (unless your apps were making us of one of those vulnerabilities ). As long as the Android major release version is staying the same (it is) I'd go ahead and install the update to ensure your phone is protected.
