Auto Backup not working

Auto backup is not working i.e. photos on my phone are not being uploaded to my PC. Also if, in the Photos app menu, I select: Settings>Auto-Backup>Back up all, the display indicates that it is "Uploading 3 of 4" but never gets any further and no photos appear on the PC. If in Google+ Photos on the PC, I select "Auto Backup" as the source, it responds "No photos found for #AutoBackup"
 
Much as gar2014 reports: I first tried autobackup yesterday (8 Nov 2014) and it worked, copying 2 new photos from my Galaxy GT-56500. Today it failed to backup any new photos, but instead copied two photos that had been in my phone's Gallery for months.
