Auto rotate problem

Hi all apologies if I am in the wrong place. My phone lcd broke in my pocket at the start of the week. I managed to find a shop locally to fix it so I left it in. When I was going to collect it he said that he seemed to be water damaged, ( it had gotten wet on holiday in august but had been working fine since) so he said he would put it through a Ultrasonic cleaner.

I eventually got my phone last night and everything seems ok apart from the auto rotate not working. I brought it back to the shop and he couldnt see anything obviuosly wrong with it and advised me to do a factory reset. I have just did that and the problem remains. I now am not too sure what to do next? if I didnt have this problem before the LCd replacement then could it be linked?

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to Android Forums :-)

My guess is the sensor that detects orientation has stopped working, possibly as a result of the repair (but hard to prove).

You can test this by downloading a sensor test app - lots to choose from, search "sensor tester" in the Play Store, but my guess is the repairman will claim it wasn't working when he received it - and you can't really argue.
