Anyone else get all excited about a parking lot or abandoned airport littered with cones?

I ran my third-ever event this weekend and had an absolute blast. I'm slowly getting better, and starting to hit more consistent times.

So, who else likes to stand around for eight hours in return for a few minutes of dodging cones? :D

I'd LOVE to... If I didn't have to drive 4+ hours to find an event! I'd love to try my Jetta TDI (laugh if you want) at an autocross

There were guys with all sorts of cars at the last one I went to, lots that I wouldn't really expect to be autocrossing:

Looks like I'll have some good company in the newbie C Street class on Sunday:

Had an absolute blast. This was my first event where we ran the course in reverse for the afternoon sessions. And I laid down a best time that I'm quite pleased with - beating out all the other newbie 86's, and a not-newbie FR-S with every bolt-on allowed in the C Street class. Finished 4th of 22 in that Novice PAX!

First official event of 2015!

Lots of wind noise and whistling (sorry), but I'm pleased with the video shot from outside the car. :)

Double-header event this weekend - one in Huntsville on Saturday, followed by a quick roadtrip to Birmingham for Sunday.

Saturday's quickest run:

It was a really fun course, but lots of opportunities for weight transfer to get the better of my stock Michelin Primacy tires. Even got a pretty nice spin-out from it..

I borrowed a used set of Dunlop Z1 Star Specs for Sunday's segment and noticed huge improvements. Having grip is a pretty neat trick!

Even took first in my class. :D
