Automatic switching to stronger WiFi networks

Lurker
I have an S3 (and just bought a Galaxy Tab 10.1). In my home, I have a main wireless network ("a_winet") and just installed a wirless range extender so that the signal could reach parts of my house the main router can't. The Netgear range extender connected with the "a_winet" network and is successfully sending and receiving wireless signals, but it does it under the network name "a_winet_nxt". Both network names use the same password.

What I would like to happen is that when I'm walking through my house, the S3 uses the network with the strongest signal strength (or even uses the cell data network if wireless is relatively weak). I have found apps such as this one: http://goo.gl/bDHMo which claim to solve the problem, but indicate that either the S3 should do it natively or else that the app won't work unless the networks have the same name.

Is there a way to make my s3 do this natively? If so, is there a setting I can play with to give the s3 a "threshold" - i.e. tell it to switch if the signal strength is below a certain amount? If not natively, is there an app that will do this?

Thanks.

No

You can properly setup your wireless network.

Turn off wireless on your router and return your extender. Buy two or 3 access points and setup a wireless domain. Then you will have what you want for your strolls
