Help Automatic Text Delete?

Shouldn't there be an option to delete messages after so many days automatically. I noticed my phone's been lagging a bit when going through programs and also whenever I view text messages it will pop-up with force close or wait.

Right now I'm deleting a bunch of messages, but it's taking forever.

Well, it took about a good 10 mins or so, not too sure because I left my phone while doing other things...

Phone's running better now, but it would still be nice to have that option in an update. I guess for now I'll just do as you do (delete threads around 200).

What Android needs to do is not try and load every text message in a thread, just the last 20 or so then fetch more are you scroll through them.

That is a little odd that the Market does it, but not the texts.

I would equate that to different development teams.

I'd say it a matter of efficiency. If they did only show 15 at once it would take forever to read things. That would get real annoying real fast.

I delete most texts after I get them, unless there is some reason to hold onto them.
