Automatically connect to router

As long as the handsets WiFi is on it should automatically connect to any wireless connection that you have accessed in the past when in range, is this not happening.

Hi,
If I ask the phone to connect to the router, then yes it does. People have mentioned that on their phones (not xperia x10's), that whenever they are in range of their router, the phone will connect automatically without them having to connect it.
Just thought that would be a good thing and would set it up if the X10 allowed me to do so.
