Help Background noise during calls on the Note8

I am having issues with really loud background noise during calls. People that I talk to are complaining that it's hard to hear me speak unless I'm sitting perfectly still in a quiet room.

Also, my s-pen doesn't seem to be as good as it was on my old Note 4, but that may just be the screen protector...

Have you tried turning on noise cancellation in your phone app settings?

OP,

Are you using wired/wireless headphones with an inline mic for calls?
Do the people you call complain about echo?
Are you on speakerphone or just headset use when these complaints occur?

In terms of s-pen,

It has a finer resolution over previous notes if memory serves me, and yes your screen protector is likely a culprit in this specific issue.

Same problem, but there is no call settings for noise cancellation on Note 8!
