ok i downloaded the backgrounds app and i love it. found some backgrounds right off the back that i liked and saved them. well when i saved the pics it says that they were saved to the sd card in the backgrounds folder. well when i go to my albums there is no backgrounds folder in there. so i figured i could hook it up over usb and just cut and paste them in a folder that i knew would show up in albums. strike 2. so i was fooling with the app and i found that they have photo frames that you can add a pic to and save them. well i tried that and a backgrounds folder appeared under albums but the backgrounds i saved still dont show up. strike 3. so this leads me here to see what kind of help or insight any of my fellow android users can give me. thanks in advance!

Same program but slightly different issue. Backgrounds save without issue, but pictures that have been saved do not show up in "Albums".

The pictures that are saved are .png format, and even after moving the pictures to a different folder the pictures still do not show up in "Albums". It seems as though "Albums" is unable to recognize any pictures that have been saved via the "Backgrounds" application?

What's the "Albums" app?

From what I can remember of using the Backgrounds app, files are saved to /sdcard/backgrounds. You should be able to confirm this by using the "Astro" file explorer app and checking if the pictures you downloaded are there. Once they're downloaded, you just need to 'long-press' on a blank area of your home screen, choose Wallpapers, then Pictures, and they should show up somewhere in there.

Alternatively, you could open up the Gallery app, find the picture you want for your background, long-press on it, then choose 'Set As' and 'Wallpaper'

The app is called "Albums" and came with the phone. The phone is a HTC Hero so I am not sure if the "Albums" app is native to Android or if it is a HTC application.

The "Background" application worked fine. Pictures could be saved without issue. The problem was that the unlike other pictures that were downloaded, the "Albums" app did not detect (and thus not show) any pictures that the "Background" application had downloaded. I took a few of the pictures that were downloaded via the "Background" application and moved them to a different folder (a folder that had other pictures that were showing up in "Albums"). The pictures that were moved still did not show up in "Albums".

For whatever reason, the xxxxx.png pictures that are downloaded from "Backgrounds" are not recognized by the "Albums" application.
