Backup flaky Blade Q lux

Is this just the way of it, or is there something I am doing?

I back up using the supplied app, and then pretty much randomly if I try to recover I get "No apps to recover". The backup directory is there on the SD card. I have other stuff on the SD card that works fine.

Thanks for any help.

So. After another resounding silence from round here, I have been ferreting about, finding that Android 4.4 fritzed any sd card writing, and that 5 cries ="security" to make it awkward, and that many "indy" apps are not up with it yet, and that I had to grant permission to apps to allow writing to the card and in most cases the implementation was crap in these apps....

..........or I could root the phone, a term that does not sit well with me for various reasons.....

.... then finally I got to a stage where no file manager except the bundled one could write to SD Card and the bundled manager's implementations and capabilities are crap.......

...and NOBODY here knew ANY of this???? Amazing.

So....I opened WPS Office (nice free programme) and tried to save to my SD Card...and it had a nice process to do it and it worked.

And then the eye-opener. ALL my apps are now able to delete, save etc to my SD Card, whether they are system apps or not. ES File Manager cn delete SD Card files. My backups are there and can be restored, even after I have cleared the backup programme's cache, and rebooted etc. I'm still waiting, but it looks good.

Discuss?
