Backup & Restore Advice/My Portion Of Texts Missing

Hi Everyone,

New To Forum...Any Advise Would Be Gr8ly Appreciated...

Q1: Under Settings - Cloud & Accounts - Samsung Cloud - Scroll Down To Backup & Restore: There Are (2) Backups Displayed (1) For Note 9 & (1) For Old S7...When I Open The Old S7 Backup There's An Option To Backup To This Phone Or Another Option To Delete Backup...Is There Good Reason To Backup It Up To The Note 9 - Or Should I Just Leave It Where It Is - Or Should I Delete For Future Space? Everything Seems To Have Transferred Over Except: See Q2*

Q2: After Smart Switch'n My Phones, 1 Thing I Noticed Was That My Text Transferred Over But Only What The Other Person/People (Group) Sent Or Responded To Me; Not Any Of The Text That I Sent Out Or Made Responses To...Any1 Else Notice That? My Portion Of The Text Didn't Start Show'n Up Until I Started Using My Note 9...Any1 Know How To Fix This Issue?

Q3: Where Did Visual Voicemail Go? Or Is It Not Available On Unlocked Note 9?

I know nothing about Samsung cloud backups so can't advise there (though SMS take up little space, so unless your messages are all MMS with video clips I'd not worry about the space aspect). If you still have the S7 I suggest using some other backup app there to back up both sides of the conversation.

Visual voicemail is a carrier feature, and so I'd not expect a non-carrier handset to have it. I don't know whether you can add it - telling us who your carrier is might help someone else advise.

Do you have tmobile? I dont think the unlocked version will have any tmobile features like visual voicemail.

If you have the S7 still and you have not reset it, try sms backup and restore on both phones and try again.

Yeah for Q1, thats up to you where you want to backup.

Well, As Of Recently I Can't Even Get S7 To Charge Anymore...So I May Have No Options To Try To Re-Transfer The Texts. Some Texts Appear As MMS, Others Are Not - So That Didn't Seem To Effect Whether My Responses Appeared Or Not. But I'm Wondering If Doing The Backup & Restore (Per Q1 Fr: S7 To Current Note 9 May Recover Them? Everything Else Seems To Have Transferred Seamlessly...Really Don't Wanna Have To Go Back & Reestablish Everything I've Already Updated & Logged Back Into Either...Just Seems Kinda Eerie Not C'n My Portion Of Texts?!

I Use AT&T...So Being Unlocked May Be Issue W/Visual Voicemail (Thanks Marctronixx!)
