Bad time to buy?

I actually just purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9" 3 days ago and find myself thinking that perhaps I should have gone with the 10" format.

The EEE Pad was an option I was heavily interested in but I am wondering if this isn't a great time to buy any of these tabs. With CES going on do you think I would be better off waiting for a month to see the next-gen tablets? Also, even if I don't get a fancy quad-core machine (I probably won't as a matter of fact) do you think current gen tabs will fall significantly?

I understand tech is always moving forward and prices are always dropping, but I feel like with the impending release of some of the new tabs there may be a big shift coming soon and what I spend $400 for today could be significantly cheaper Very soon.

I'd be really interested to get some opinions from people on this board. Thanks!

HH Gregg had the original TF in 32GB flavor for $399 (normally $499) just the other day, if you shop around a bit you can get a TF 16GB + keyboard dock for under $500, which is a bargain considering the dock extends battery life by 6 hours.

Edit: you probably won't see the CES stuff hit the market until late Q2 or Q3 this year, I know that is the case with the two new Asus tablets just announced at CES.

I WOULD HAVE been excited and maybe getting a TF Prime this year and handing this one down to the wife/kids, but the GPS and wifi issues are completely disappointing, plus the price is hard to swallow.

In technology you can never "win"- you always pay a lot to get it early or buy stuff when it's slightly outdated but better priced. I'm glad ASUS is still selling the original TF to give everyone a choice.
