Ballistic vs Otterbox

I have an Otterbox Defender on my S3. However, it's all stretched out from taking it off a total of 3 times for cleaning. The plastic case is cracking. Never been dropped. Anyway, I am thinking of getting this Ballistic case and I wanted to get some opinions.

I have a friend that has used the Hard Core series of case and he LOVES it. I've watched him accidentally drop his phone down a flight of stairs, pick it up, dust it off, and continue on his way. I was pretty impressed with that to say the least. He's a total klutz and I've seen it dropped or "fall" out of his hand countless times. It's dinged up but keeps the phone safe.

I had the ballistic case for my EVO. Tough and durable case. But very bulky. I didn't mind the bulk though. My wife's EVO Shift has an Otterbox case and it's pretty durable as well but the Ballistic cases have maximum protection
