In Finland we use Code 128, the high-density barcode symbology, with every bill as a standard. I would like to know if there's any decent barcode scanner to scan those quite long barcodes with my HTC Hero.
I have tried a few scanners but none of them scanned it. Well, there was one exception.. That was mobiScan 128. It scanned the barcode pretty well but the program does not handle the data at all. It just shows them on display. I would like to send the data with bluetooth to my PC or copy-paste it or at least do something with it!
I don't know how the applications are programmed but the problem seems to be with the 'scan window'. It is just too narrow to get the whole barcode in the window so the program can read the data. The window in mobiScan 128 is as wide as the screen in HTC Hero so I think that helps the program to read the barcode.
