Root Basic root questions however under v11.3.1.0

so i recentely rooted my v11.3.1 KFHD (2013) i cant seem to get rid of the ads under lock screen if attempted to rename the dtcp_apk.apk file under system/app to a batch file but am not able to also tried to delete it but it doesnt delete.

second im trying to block the auto updates using the method if found to alter the ips under system/etc/hosts but unable to alter those files

if anyone can help with these id greatly appreciate it thanks

If your a 100% sure, what File manager are you using to try and rename/delete files ?

I just rooted my KFHD last night, so I have very limited knowledge at this point!

How are you attempting to rename/delete them (terminal? file manager?), and what exactly happens when you try? Is there an error message?

I simply moved /system/etc/security/otacerts.zip to another location, rebooted, and everything seems good to go now.

I checked and got a successful root! I am using es file explorer and just tried root explorer with no luck
