Help battery dead after 12 hours "asleep"

I just picked up a used LG G pad 8.3. It is coming off a fresh factory reset. last night I put it on the charger and this morning I checked and it was at 100%. when I got home from work it was dead. Is there anything I should check or any legitimate reason why my tablet would be dead after 12 hours of not being used? Is there something wrong with it? Should I initiate the return process with the seller?
 
The graph shows a steady decline from 100 to zero over 9 hours. it says 89% went to the screen which is weird because the screen should have been off unless something woke the tablet up.

I've moved your thread to the LG G Pad 8.3 board where it should get better exposure from fellow owners.
 
Im guessing noone will ever see this thread again but Im going to update it anyway. plugged it in yesterday and charged to 64%. used it last night down to 46% and left it off the charger. checked it this morning approx 10 hours later and it was still at 45%
 
This is purely a guess on my part, but it sounds like the battery is defective and/or dying. Perhaps trying a new one will resolve the issue.

PS We can always move this thread again. :)

If you were OFF the charger for 10 hrs & dropped only 1% (from 46% to 45%),I'm not seeing a problem.

Please elaborate........
