I have a Samsung S2 and is going from 100% to 25% in 2 hours. Have charged it to full and very annoying. Phone is 18 months old and is through Virgin. Happens once a week.

Theres a number of reasons why this could be happening, like a bad battery, too many background processes, too many foreground processes, or an app like Facebook eating up half your RAM. But for it to happen once a week sounds unusual... how is the coverage in your area? If you have weak coverage, then that could also be the cause.

Try downloading an app called Wakelock detector from the Play Store. I found it invaluable in determining what apps were stopping my phone from going to sleep and therefore stopping the battery drain.

It could be that you have an app that is keeping your phone awake, even while the screen is off. I had a rogue app doing that recently and it crippled my battery. The app used to work perfectly but an update caused the wakelock issue. i contacted the dev and he fixed it in the next update.
