battery drain email keeps hunting

galaxy ace 2 email continues hunting even when nothing there

Is this the stock email app or the Gmail app?
In either case, go to Settings - Applications - select the All tab, and scroll down to Email or Gmail. Clear data and cache and then reboot the phone.
