Help Battery drained after being turned off for 2 weeks

I have a spare battery for my S3 that I leave for months at a time and usually it only drops about 4-5%. On a semi-related tangent I have second battery for my laptop and that drops about 15% if I just leave it untouched for several weeks. (Although part of that is attributable to my laptop being several years old as are both batteries.)
When you left your Nexus unused and unplugged for a couple of weeks, was it powered off or just in standby mode? In standby mode there's still a bit of a drain on the battery so possibly that's what happened.

Bit of a long story, but it had been factory reset and had been powered off, and then was in someone else's possession, who supposedly didn't use it. I suppose it's possible that he turned it on and then left it in standby mode until the battery drained.
It's good to have this information though - I will experiment with it myself and monitor what happens to the battery under different conditions.

I have a "bricked" one of these. (Stuck in an unbreakable bootloop.) It sits by my desk until a have yet another attempt to bring it back to life. It refused to lose all the stired juice even after months of idleness. Battery level barely shifts after two weeks.
Having recharged it and left in on standby since posting first, it hasn't lost much juice at all. I think the guy must have used it...
Mine is very slow, not quite bricked yet, and I had sold it, but he complained about a couple of minor scratches and sent it back. Now I am reconsidering keeping it though, because the replacement I bought for it (Samsung Tab S 8.4) is only a slight improvement really, for the way I use it anyway, which is pretty basic. (Better display, doesn't freeze, plays videos, etc. - but not great battery life and still slow on Firefox and not great with Facebook.) Now wondering about selling my new one...
