Battery draining a lot when sleeping ?!

bo waleed

Newbie
I mean from night to morning, about 12 hours.

The battery is draining about 20-25%, This is a lot because my previous iphone [iphone 4] drops 1% or 2% (or sometimes it didn't loss anything).

Any help ?

I am using live wallpaper on both home and lock screen (although the screen is off) but i don't think it is causing this.

Thanks for answering.

I lose about 1% an hour when I'm not using the phone. I use JuiceDefender, and I try to set up my phone in battery friendly way - like not using live wallpapers. Interestingly (or not :)), it also takes about 1% an hour to recharge.

Hi bo waleed, Please check previous topics about battery problems. Anyway I will re-post my previous comment:

"There are many options that you need to consider. For example 3 nights in a row I have left it around 00:00 at 100 % battery and in the morning at 07.30 it is usually on 97% or 96%, which means that it is great, considering that this is Not on airplane mode or anything else.
I will give you some of my settings:
Settings:
*Screen mode - Standard
*Auto adjust screen power - on
*Brightness - Manual- 25-30%
*Power saving - CPU power saving on + Turn off haptic feedback
*Location services - Everything off
*Motion - everything On
*Wallpaper - Live or still - make sure it is dark or black - saves battery
*Developers Options: Limit Background processes : Standard limit.

Use advanced task killer program to kill all applications after full charge just before sleep, ensuring that you do not have running applications."

Edit: Last night I lost 1% of Battery. I left it at 88% at around 23.50 and woke up at 07.40 and it was on 87%. (true).!

I do not know if I'm lucky or something, but my recharge time is unbelievable (my opinion). I have checked and my phone recharges about 50% in 1h30min maximum, from the normal charger which goes in the plug.

If this helps you do not forget to press the "like" and/or "thanks" button.

My phone lost 40% last night. Turns out Tapatalk had a 6 hour partial wake lock... Its never done that before.

Its always handy to find out in settings > Battery if you had a large period of "Awake".

If you did use something like "Better battery stats" (or probably some free alternative) to check partial wake lock.

Also wifi can cause battery loss, if your wifi router and a neighbors' wifi router are on the same channel, or close channels (like you're on 2 and he's on 3). This can cause wifi dropouts and causes the phone to keep searching for your wifi signal, which will kill your battery.

This happened to me a few months ago. A new neighbor hooked up his wifi router and it chose the channel right next to mine, and he had a strong signal, so my phone's battery dropped like a rock when it was inactive. When it's active, it can keep the wifi connection easier, so battery loss isn't as noticeable. It's a weird problem, but changing my channel worked.
