Did anyone, particular Samsung Galaxy J7 users received a new software update yesterday or any other time feel as though your phone battery drains faster after you installed the new software?

Battery drains more quicker.

I really didn't get a full day out of the new update since I installed it late in the day. However, I too noticed more battery drain. I've read this has happened to higher end Samsung phones too. Supposedly clearing the cache might help but don't think it helped me. I noticed it seems to take longer to charge too which is strange. For today I'm going to try keeping it on the lowest battery saving mode which says it slows down the CPU but I don't use my phone for anything demanding so I'll see how that goes.
