Couldn't believe it just wanted to see how long it could go. Sync on, (set at 4 hr intervals Wifi on, minor texting and calls, sometime on flipboard, but relatively very low usuage. FYI with heavy use, web surfling, games, moderate calling and texting I still get a full day. What's your best/normal

I plug in every night so I'll only see > 24 hours if I forget. Since I fixed my two battery drain bugs this is what I'm now seeing and I'm quite happy with it.

No idea how you get over 2 days lol.

s/he turns off one of teh biggest drains. The screen ;)

My best is a full day with 6 hours screen on. I didn't need to use the screen for 6 hours. Once it was at 4 hours, I made a game of it and got 6.

I've been short of a full day a few times and had to power it, but these are usualy when i've done a lot of downloading / flashing or tethering.

These phones can have amazing battery life once the few bugs are found, if they appear in the first place (as I spent months finding out lol). I'm so happy with it now though, this is much better battery wise than my old iPhone.

A full battery cycle during a few days of very light usage.

Setting for this cycle;
Sync = Always on
Data = Always on
Wi-Fi = Always off
GPS = Always on
Power Saving = Always on
Bluetooth = Always off
Screen Brightness = Auto
Not rooted
Nova Launcher
Three email accounts syncing, only widgets are Shazam, Missed It, brightness & sound toggles.

Nice! I saw somebody said about putting it in airplane mode overnight. That's a good idea but it's actually not necessary. I just put mine in power saving mode overnight and from a full charge after 8 hours the battery drops from 100% to 97%-98%. Just as good and you don't have to sacrifice missing calls in emergencies. So far my best battery life has been 1 day and 6 hours and I had 18% left still. I'm very happy with my battery life

At night, why not just put it on the charger? No need to use airplane mode if you're at home and you have charger next to your bed.

All these people with this great battery data don't use their phones that much. When 50% plus of standby is your biggest battery drain, it's not being used.

John P had 6 hours of screen use with over two days on battery, but you are right, like I said it didn't use it very much, but when I do use it a ton I still get an entire day. My biggest drain Ive noticed is the combo of bt and streaming radio.

Foot in mouth. I tried putting it in airplane mode overnight last night and after 7 hours the battery stayed at 100% the whole time. I was also in power saving too. Don't complain if somebody is showing their battery life and not using their phone so much. There is nothing wrong with that at all. Some people prefer to charge overnight and some don't. Personally if I can let it go overnight and only lose 2-3% in power saving mode then I would rather do that than having it charging all night. And it's a relief to see that somebody out there isn't constantly living on their phone. 10-15 years ago people barely cared about cell phones. Now people act like they can't live without them. It's sad. I'm glad to see you got over 2 days out of it

In airplane mode your phone will go for days, just goes to show you what's really killing the battery.

Personally, I just plug my phone in whenever I near a plug. I use my phone a lot that it's not even worth trying to estimate my battery life. My S3's battery last enough the times I need it to last (when I am out all night with friends, on the boat, etc...) because then I am never on it. Even when I just plug in speakers to listen to music is goes for a good while. Enjoy your phone and forget about the battery.

I get about 16 to 17 hours with a full charge on wifi/LTE. If I'm on LTE all day it's about 12-13hrs. Turning off data when not using it will double your battery life.

I read a lot about battery life posts and articles. In my opinion I think the makers are to blame. Anyone on here should be able to go a full 8 hour workday on a single charge WITHOUT turning off basic features like sync, data, GPS etc. I understand usage habits will have a major effect on battery life and I do realize that I have LTE and an almost 5-inch screen, yes. I believe manufacturers should be a lot more detailed when it comes to improving it overall though. Just my 2 cents.

I do, do that. I'm referring to if someone wanted to push battery limitations or needed desperately save battery life if they couldn't access a charger etc...airplane mode and 0 brightnes the battery will go on for days with no use.

So if you're in a desert you know what to do.

Thank me later.

I can get 2 days max but thats because when i do pick it up i usually use it for browsing, texting or something similar. So with even less use i reckon could push 3 days without a problem.

Maps is causing me insane amounts of wakelocks but i dunno if thats a Google Now thing? It did have a fair few anyway but now its mental!

So far ive got 1 day and 23 hours with 3 and a half hours screen time, an hour and a half of calls, half an hour of music. Unsure on internet time, at least 1-2 hours i reckon.

Here is one of my better battery screen shots.

I normally charge every 2-3 days.

Not using power saving. juice defender actually made the battery drain quicker.

as you can see in just 14 minutes of those screen shots. ive gone from 100%% to 98% and i havent done anything other than take the screen shots and send them in a email???? any help or tips?

Please...if you calculate a little bit 14min every 2% would give you about 11hours of screen time. But you wont get that.. 2% with 14min screen time is completely normal.

so what you think i should just leave it alone until dead and see how long i actually get out of 1 charge? thats hard for me to do. i get nervous when it hits 50% and start charging again.lol
