Battery Issues

Hi,

So I have a Note 3 that has caused me problems pretty much within a year after getting it.

I even hired someone around a year+ ago to help me reset it.

Fast forward to today, & now things are worse than ever.

My battery always drained quickly & then someone recommended DU Battery Saver.

I didn't think it was working, plus with ALL the ads that caused other issues on the phone I said forget it & removed it about 2 weeks ago.

I realized THEN that it was working.

I tried other battery saver apps, but either I couldn't figure out how to configure them properly or I don't know, because my battery died within hours of me charging it.

I put the DU Battery Saver back on, but it didn't help at all

I went from only charging it maybe once a day, to now having to charge it 2-3 times a day.

I don't know what the difference is since I put it back on, but do you think a new battery will solve the problem, or is it just the phone? I can't afford a new phone.

Thanks

Most here will tell you that battery savers do more harm than good. The Note 3 is about 5 years old and if you have the original oem battery, probably time to replace it.

What about them stopping apps from working in the background?

So I guess I'll have to buy a new battery.

Thanks

What about them stopping apps from working in the background?

It will depend on the app, but for the most part, it's futile as Android will attempt to keep memory as full as possible. This is the most efficient way to run a mobile device anyway. Count yourself lucky that a 5-year old battery still works at all.

Lots of threads here if you want to read through some with both pros and cons.
Enter Battery Savers into the sites search.
Most phones have a version of a battery saver built in to the stock rom. What it all comes down to is how you have your phone set up and how much you use it
This is what I have on my lg G6. Never have used it.

Yes,you could change a new battery. Here is some tips that could save new battery life.
1)Turn Off Raise to Wake Mode
2)Limit or Turn Off Location Service
3)Disable Background App Refresh
4)Enable Low Power Mode
5)Disable WiFi, Bluetooth & Airdrop When Not Needed

While disabling services can save you some power, remember that you are disabling services so they will no longer be available to any app. @Billy Beckham , those things highlighted in red are for iPhones only so it's really not applicable here.
