My battery on my samsung s3 mini is discharging very quickly in comparison to my samsung s3. I am getting approximately 12 hrs of minimal usage and then its gone. Over night from a full charge I awoke to 40% battery life. Also I am using extended battery life options on my phone. The model number is GT-18190L, android version 4.1.2, and baseband version 18190LUBAMH1. Currently my Andriod OS is at 48% and screen at 12%. I live in Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean and Bmobile T&T is my current service provider. Is this normal or is my battery defective?

That battery usage isn't sound good, but it's not impossible so it doesn't neccesarily indicate a duff battery. If you're still within warranty, it wouldn't hurt to get a new battery, though.

How good is the network signal? When it's poor (say fluctuating between a few bars and none at all), then the phone is constantly searching for a network and this can hammer the battery.

You might also want to check if there's anything sync'ing a lot - I would turn off Android Sync (use the Power control widget) and maybe increase the time between sync's on other things, see if that helps.

Also, check the section of this forum for your phone, see if anyone else has had similar issues and found a solution - there may be different ROMs you could use, for example.
