ok so iam kind of new to the G1.i seem to be having a problem.my battery life always goes so fast! i have dont things to try to save it like i turned my screen brightness to 0 my wifi is off i use 2g instead of 3g.i make sure i dont have so many things going at once and everything. So today i was on my phone just texting.first my battery life was 100 and about 20 mins latter it was 95% .that so annoying to me.so is there anything else i can do to save battery life or slow it down?Any good battery saver apps?Or should i just get a second battery? Thanks!

Get a second battery, or keep your power adapter handy. Any time the screen is on your battery is dying. I think the longest my MT3G has lasted on one battery, with a moderate amount of use, was 14 hours.

It's good to turn off wi-fi and GPS when you're not using them and keep the screen at the minimum brightness you can work with, but smart phones are battery killers. There's just no way around it.

Not sure it would be the same case with the G1, but with the Samsung Moment's case, it was a faulty battery meter and it required at least 2 or 3 full power cycles (eg, completely drain your battery till it turns off, then fully charge and then again) to recalibrate the meter)... Usually Android phones can be a power horde it's not unusual to run out of battery after one day of using it. If you can last the whole day, than you can just recharge it at night.

The G1 simply sucks when it comes to battery life.

I usually keep an extra battery handy with mine, but lugging it around gets annoying. There really isn't anything you can do. That's just one of the faults of the G1.
