Help Battery not charging

A bit of a weird one. The battery doesn't charge fully overnight (it will vary between how much it charges).

I leave it on charge for a good 8 hours so plenty of time for the phone to charge to 100%. I wake up and it varies as to what it charges to (40%,50%,70%,80% and all the other numbers in between).

If I charge it now, it will charge to 100%.

I know the phone has alot of evening settings (night mode, standby mode etc...) so I took them off and just left it as normal but It still doesn't charge to 100%.

Any ideas or suggestion? Have I missed something out or is there a setting that is causing this not to charge fully?

Cheers

Eight hours is usually enough to charge the battery - if it's not being discharged at the same time. IOW, if the phone is off, it should charge to 100% (and in less thn 8 hours).

But if the phone is on when you charge it, how much charge you will get in 8 hours depends on how much the phone is drawing from the battery during those 8 hours - and that's going to be different every night.

See what's drawing the power during charge (there are apps that will tell you what's drawing how much) or use Greenify to keep everything but alarms, phone and text (IOW, anything you want to run without your having to press an icon) hibernated.

I've actually reseted the phone (luckily I haven't put too much on there) and I still have the same issue. I charged the phone up on a different socket and it charged to 100%. I need to try charging it again (as I have to wait every 2-3 days for the battery to go down) to test it but I may have found the reason to why it doesn't charge :)
