Battery or phone problems? Idk HTC Evo Shift

I just want to know why my phone keeps randomly turning off when I'm on the phone, texting someone, or when I'm not using it at all. I have a replacement of my old phone and it's been happening ever since I got it. Is there something wrong with the battery, the phone itself or do all Sprint phones do this? I have an HTC Evo Shift.

Replacement phones are usually remanufactured phones that are rebuilt to the best ability of the technician for a particular company. However, it's possible that they missed a broken connection or something similar. I'd take it back and request another phone.
