Help Battery problem

I got a Milestone yesterday, and over night the battery ran out. When I try the wall plug on the display there's a battery with a question mark inside it, and there's a red led on, and the phone won't charge. When I try to charge my phone via usb, it does charge ( the white led is on) but after 10 minutes the phone turns on, and the charging process is interrupted (it won't charge unless the phone is turned off). I couldn't find a solution...
 
You killed the battery ompletely which is very bad for these batteries. Your best option is to put it on charge and leae for a very long time, maybe a day. It should start charging after some time.
 
Hope it works. Never had problems with any phone untill now similar to this one. I always use it 'till it turns off.
